The Zombies are coming

Do you imagine yourself walking down the street when suddenly a group of zombies attack you? It sounds like a horror movie, but according to some scientists and recent events certain drugs can turn people into zombies.
The bath salts in the EEUU are causing fear and paranoia. A 26 year old homeless was attacked the past 26 of May. Rudy Eugene ate the hobo’s ears, nose, one eye, and part of his forehead.  The police was forced to kill Eugene since he didn’t want to leave his victim. A woman in New York attacked her three year old son, a pitbull dog, and passersby. The same story is repeated across the US. These cases have all in common the use of bath salts. It is really possible that a drug that it has been around since 2008, at least in the US, can turn people into zombies.
First of all it is necessary to clarify that the so called bath salts have nothing to do with the ones we use in the bathtubs. The owners of this drug name it lake that and label them “not for human consumption” in order to make it a legal product. The bath salts are a synthetic drug similar to LSD. It can cause cannibalism, hallucinations, zombie like behavior, and the worst thing is that there is no test to pick up this drug.
All drugs leave you like a zombie; however, there is no official register of a drug that makes you eat other people. Maybe the victimizers were all cannibals before taking the drug, or they all had mental disorders. Whatever the answer is, further research needs to be done, since this can be the beginning of new dangerous phenomena.

When does life begin?

Even though it sounds a simple question, it’s not. During all these years scientists all over the world have discussed about the origin of life, till now they haven’t been able to come to a consensus.

Here are a few theories:

-Pro-life groups claim that life begins as soon as a sperm fuses with an egg, and therefore as a future human being, the embryo has rights and interests.
-Ian Wilmut, the creator of Dolly the sheep, sustains that life begins after 14 days with the development of the spinal column.
-Jonathan Glover, director of the Centre of Medical Law and Ethics at King's College London, argues that life begins with the beginning of consciousness.

All these arguments have led to a number of controversial issues: birth control pills, DIU, abortion and the day after pill. About the last one pro-life and religious groups claim that the day after pill is abortive and it is killing a future human being because it prevents sperm fuses with an egg.

I personally take Wilmut’s side and agree on life beginning with the backbone, but I don’t discredit the other theories because there is no reason to claim one is right and the other one is wrong.

As I said above this is personal, so when does life begin to you?
